Toddler children learn through the exploration of their surroundings and their play with the objects and people in it. In our Toddler program we build on this curiosity and provide our toddlers with a safe space to explore and provide them with highly qualified, nurturing caregivers.
At Young Scholars Academy, toddlers embark on a journey of discovery, where every moment of play sparks curiosity and learning. In our nurturing environment, little ones grow into confident explorers, eager to embrace the world around them.
Our toddler curriculum is designed to provide learning experiences that supports all their emerging cognitive skills through sensory-based activities that excite children to become confident learners. Activities are designed to promote basic problem-solving, strengthen fine and gross motor movements and support language development with communication and vocabulary.
Toddlers will experience STEM learning through observation of the natural world around them using their senses, manipulation of age-appropriate tools, and opportunities to create and build with various materials.
Teachers use the Ruler model to help toddlers develop emotional intelligence by labeling and talking about what they are feeling and how others may be feeling. Caregivers will model appropriate ways to express emotions and help children navigate through emotional experiences with positive guidance. Through the Ruler model children will develop an understanding of feelings which will lead to deeper bonds with their care givers and building of stronger friendships. Teachers develop social skill activities to help children master concepts of sharing, taking turns, and respecting others.
