School-Age children spend their day expanding their knowledge and working diligently in a school classroom setting. In our Before & Age School program we extend children’s daily learning experiences in a relaxing setting where children can still engage and socialize.
Our School Age curriculum is designed to provide assistance with homework and coaching on school related assignments while also providing supplemental materials and projects to introduce and support advanced concepts.
Activities are designed to increase critical thinking, encourage independent work habits and expand their current base knowledge in subjects. School Agers will experience STEM learning through the use of our STEM Center to apply advanced principles of science through theoretic investigations and experimentation, computer operating systems and coding, and engineering fundamentals.
Teachers use the Ruler model to help School Agers strengthen emotional intelligence by encouraging them recall and consider any emotional incidents that occur throughout the day and helping them develop a social script for improved interactions in the future. Caregivers will support School Agers manage emotions though evaluation of their own emotional responses and help children navigate through emotional experiences by providing them with self-reflection prompts and friendly counsel. Through the Ruler model children will develop a sense of emotional security where they feel confident to share their feelings with teachers that support and understand them.
